Hi!
Forgive me if this is territory that has already been covered.
After years of replacing collet after collet when the teeth broke, trying all this stuff http://home.comcast.net/~rmessick2/Trem ... rm_Fix.htm, when I heard about the Johnny Marr jag, I ordered the staytrem immediately.
It came with an Allen key adjustment. Several years later,my friend just bought one and the allen key adjustment is gone. Wha?
Staytrem Collet no longer has allen key adjustment?

Yep, I dumped a Staytrem a couple years ago because of the Allen wrench adjustment.
Decided tog I've it another go this year and was surprised to find no Allen adjustment.
It's a MAJOR improvement, as far as I'm concerned.

Interesting.
What was wrong with your old one?
I haven't had any trouble with mine.
Seems to me the lack of machining for the new design would make them much cheaper to manufacture. This isn't reflected in the price!!

Re: Staytrem Collet no longer has allen key adjustment?
I know with my first stay trem version(with allen key), that when I adjusted it off a bit, to attempt to make the arm turn a bit more freely(it worked), It soon after unwound itself & started tapping/fouling out in the bootom of the trem rout.
A bit of locktite soon sorted it out.
Dont really have a major preference. Both types work well.

I got a second hand arm a while ago and recently installed it. No screw here either. It seems to do what it is supposed to do and now I don't have to constantly re-push it in every 15 minutes.
Good piece of kit!

I seem to remember Johnny Marr saying in an interview promoting the Marr Jag that they found that a synthetic collet of some type gave a better result than the allen key
