Anyone using a wound G on their Jags? I have a cool 63'.
Dig most everything about it except that the plain G sounds flubbier than other strings.
I will double check the nut slot, but have wondered about using a wound G.
Who loves a wound G?

I do at the minute, but I'm on the fence as to whether I will again.

I like sound of the wound strings on a Jag, the plain B and E strings sound fine, just a wonky G, so curious.....Gav Haus wrote:I do at the minute, but I'm on the fence as to whether I will again.

It sounds great within a chord, it's just a little too light when you hit it during say, an arpeggio part etc. I went for a wound 18.... So perhaps a thicker one would even things out. I tried it out of curiosity more than anything else really; I suspect that at next restring I won't bother.
