Hey Ya'll I just picked up a 65AV Jazzmaster.
I'm pretty sure the middle pickup position is wired to be out of phase. Is this how it's supposed to be? I thought the middle would be the less quacky in-phase sound.
Thanks

If I want it to be in phase, what do I do? I've decent with a soldering iron.

Re: Jazzmaster middle position
From my experience:
If the middle position is really thin sounding, as in much less volume, it is out of phase (the signals are cancelling each other)
But if volume is comparable then it is wired in phase - and this is, well, correct, and I would just leave it
To switch phase - just unsolder one pickup and switch the wires (I probably wouldn't do this at the pickup end of the pickup wires)
