Re: I think I've finally had it...
Got mine because of the sound quite honestly. I realised i was processing/eqing my strat heavily and would have to have everything set to an absolute sweet spot for it to work. then a jazzmaster came along and i just set it to absolutely anything at random and it seems right. plus dat trem i think first time trying it i just played some open minor 7th tremoloing it for hours. I had a year or more working out what i needed with setup but overall its more reliable now its worked out with the exception of e string breakage which i might sort out if i made the effort. bass vi was fine too, i barely noticed any of the so called bridge problems on that, sure i adhered up the screw threads after barely touching it, but note that a lot of fender basses, teles, probably some strats even require exactly the same thing-its not an offset exclusive problem at all that there are loose screws, its a fender reissue vintage problem...

Johnny Marr said it best, and i am paraphrasing somewhat here... "jaguars and Jazzmasters play YOU, whereas you YOU play teles and strats"

My Jag recently played me into buying a Mastery bridge for it. We get along famously now... but for how long, I wonder?

The mastery is what did me in too. It made my offsets solid as a rock and greatly improved their resonance, pitch, and tuning stability. Plus that tremolo changed me from only having top loaders and hard tails to having to make sure I mind how much I use the trem.astorminheaven wrote:My Jag recently played me into buying a Mastery bridge for it. you may have too many offsets.~
My Jaguar hardly gets played anymore, but it never goes out of tune. no buzz, it's a great guitar. It used to be buzzy and all that but settled down. I've gotten into Mosrites alot in the last year, now have 3 of them and I do find it annoying all the maintenance they need! Tell myself the Jag never needed so much fiddling with a screwdriver!

As a user of heavy flats, I don't know what this "guitar maintenance" is that you speak of
