I find that sacrificing a goat works just as well. YMMV.
Well, it works! No more rattle. His reasoning was that it's easier to remove than some kind of synthetic adhesive - just apply heat.

Yes, even though I always lube the grooves, with teflon grease, during string changes.
Eventually, the strings will wear flat(ish) grooves in the saddles & will have to flip em over. Hopefully, one day, you'll be able to buy saddles separately.

I have to change the saddles on my Strat every 2 years or so, how are the Mastery saddles holding up?

I started using coconut oil to slow the chrome removal.. Hopefully they will hold up. Before I was dry tremming (no lube, lots of trem use for surf music) and the chrome wears away exposing brass. Woody was nice enough to replace a couple but he said this shouldn't be happening. This type of chrome should be much harder than the strings...

Not to pile on, but this chrome wear is another problem avoided by the Staytrem and its use of solid stainless saddles.

I've got two Pat. Pending Mastery bridges and haven't had any problems at all with things slipping loose and rattling.

Maybe I got lucky?

I used the mastery bridge, I love it so much!!! I did at first have problems with it loosing up after a while so I used lock tight, I've actually used it on a lot of my fender guitars' before. :shifty:

the Straytrem bridge looks to be a massive mustang bridge which I'm not a fan of. I haven't seen one in the states. so I can't really say if it's any good or not.

locktight blue has been wonderful for what it does a few of my buddies' use wax or clear nail polish, which I wasn't a fan of. as for the saddles, as far as I have used it, it doesn't wear out to bad and I am a heavy trem user :)

Just spoke to John at mastery, very nice guy. He took care of my issue and let me know exactly what was going on with my bridge when I explained the issues I was having. Superior customer service even though I bought the bridge secondhand. I recommend that everyone should email or call him first before posting on a forum -- the guy really does know his stuff.

Maybe I am just lucky but I have had zero problems with my Mastery. I have had it for at least five years. I had to re-adjust the action once in that time and the saddles have never moved.

To those of us that have a different neck radius, the Staytrem is not an option. I went with a 10 - 16 compound on my Jazzmaster, and it is the best thing I ever did. The Mastery works perfectly for me, and with a little blue Loctite, I have never had an issue. No adjustments in 6 months, plays as perfectly now as the day I set it up.

I've got a mastery on my parts jazzmaster and i love it. i had rattling issues, too, and woody at mastery told me to put loctite on it. which i did. problem solved. i resented that at first, because the bridge was so expensive i thought it should have just fixed all the problems. but i've since come around on that. the main reason i have is that it just sounds great. really great. and it stays in tune perfectly, even when i abuse the trem. plus, i love the way it transfer extra vibration to the body giving the guitar more sustain.

How's everyones Mastery doin? I finally had to flip my treble side saddles over as the chrome had worn away enough to start breaking E/B strings at the saddle again. Nice that they are symmetrical that way, I figure if I lube with coconut oil before every gig this set of saddles should last at least another 3 or 5 years. Then I will take the ones from the bass side and swap over. At this rate I will have Mastery power for another decade !!!!

??? The saddle pieces have a subtle curve to them so are not symmetrical in that sense, and aren't designed to be flipped over and used upside down.

Andy is right. ^^^
I too thought that I could flip them, until I took one off & noticed that they are indeed radiused.
Can't say I've had any real issues with the chrome wearing off as such, nothing a little go with abrasive cord & some lubricant didn't solve. I've even noticed that my mastery seems to have improved in all respects the longer it has been installed. Worn in if you like. The saddle height screws appear have notched slightly into the bridge plate.
