I've been looking to rent a planer, but home depot and lowe's don't rent them out, so I can't find anywhere near to rent one. Anyone know of any chains that will rent them out? I think I might have to resort to buying one or making one.

Are you looking for a planer, or a thickness sander? And for what purpose?

I've got some poplar that got wet and warped after it dried out, so I wanna make sure its strait before I throw it together.

They're 'bout 8 inch by inch thick planks. I got them at a local mill so they're rough cut so they're about +.25". I had to leave it out overnight and it rained and started to bow really bad. I've had them cut to 18" lengths and stored in my parents workshop for 4 or 5 months now but they still have a wicked bend to them. :'(

if they are cupped you just lightly spay a littl water on the concave side and let them sit overnight.
If they are twisted .. i dont know what to say
