Strange occurrence

I have a Squier surf green VM Jaguar that I bought new in 2014. About 7-8 years ago I replaced the pickups with a set of Fender Vintage ‘65’s. The only other mod I have made to it is a Graphtech Tusq nut. Always has worked fine. Now after all those years I went to play it yesterday I found that the tone pot for the lead circuit was doing nothing. Didn’t change the tone at all. Still has the original stock pots so I thought maybe it had failed.

This morning I went on eBay and found a pair of CTS pots and a set of new knobs (needed because of the switch to CTS pots). Put them in my cart and then thought maybe should just try reflowing the connections on the tone pot. This was all still original as the pickups only connect to the switches and ground to the volume pot. After reflowing the connections on that tone pot it all worked again. These were all original connections from the factory that had worked fine for ten years until yesterday. Just seems strange. But was an easy fix.
