Hosco nut files?

Post by ShortyMedlock » Fri Jan 26, 2024 8:11 am

Are Hosco nut files any good?

I have used several different combos of tools to cut nut slots over the years but finally may bite a small bullet and buy some real ones...

In general Hosco makes good luthiery tools. I have some of their fret end files and they are great.

I have the Hosco ones. The high 0.10 always seem to have a slight curve in them, even new (I had a set that was curved on that one and, after speaking to a few stockists, it was determined that they all have it) but it doesn't seem to affect functionality.

I've adjusted about 10 nuts, and cut about 5 from scratch using them. No complaints.
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

So now you probably see the advantage of using that yellow muspor gizmo to hold them ;D
