Disassemble AOM

Post by sonic_voo_doo » Wed Jul 08, 2020 10:21 am

Acquired a CP Jazzmaster a couple years back that was not well cared for. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to disassemble the AOM bridge on these things so I can get in there and really deep clean? (Also, maybe replace the saddles with rollers for a smoother trem feel.) Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Get a needle nose pliers and carefully pull the retainers out from each of the 6 saddle screws. They're thin, C-shaped washers that are supposed to keep the screws tight and in place. From there you just unscrew the saddle screws and pull the saddles out. I usually put some teflon tape on the screws when I put them back in, to keep the saddles from rattling. When you're done cleaning up just put them together in the reverse order.
