Mastery bridge - E strings break

I would find it very hard to believe the issue is something other than poorly constructed strings coupled with heavy vibrato use. I recommend GHS strings (recommended to me by Woody at Mastery)

You could also get your luthier to check for burrs (and remove them) in the trem itself where the strings pass through. You should be able to tell if the screw head is catching the string winding by inspection, you might not have needed to put the screws through from the back. I’m not sure this is helpful to the trem, you now have only one screw keeping the pivot plate attached, the reversed screw(s) are only acting as locating pins when inserted from the underside, they don’t apply any pressure to the pivot.

I've sworn by GHS Boomers for years. Never had a problem with them on any guitar, but I also find that they sound the best and last the longest out of most of the mass produced strings. Also the way they gauge their sets is ideal IMO

Did your luthier file the Mastery bridge slot because the string breaks near the ball end???

The he probably broke the hard chrome surface that lets the strings glide over the surface instead of digging into the brass from which the bridge is made.

Also I have a very hard time understanding the physics behind the assumptions that the bridge slot should cause the string to break at the ball end.

Unfortunately there are a lot of guitar repair shops with completely unqualified "repairmen" or "luthiers" who have no business doing what they do. There are several in my town. Part of the reason why I do most of this stuff myself.

Mostly because there was a small noise in the e string slot when using the trem. Now, the noise is gone. I was there when he fill it. It didnt fill it alot. Just 2-3 pass. I dont think it was enough to remove the chrome plating...

it's not about damn bridge, it's about the vibrato, and their fatty screws. If it is what it's, change the vibrato. descendant vibrato or mastery vibrato!

I put reinforced Ernie Ball. It works for now, but I didnt play it alot. I hope it will succeed the test of time.

Fender Bullets are supposedly the most immune to this issue, right?

That or just a tiny bit of solder at the ball end, can't get much more solid than that.
