Hello all,
I'm brand new to the forum--what a great resource! My wife and son just got me a CP Jaguar for my 50th birthday, and I've already put lots of your advice to good use.
I'd love to do the series wiring mod where both pickup switches down puts it in series. I've got some experience soldering--putting new switches into amps and pedals, etc.--so am confident I can pull this off.
However, when I look at how the switches are currently wired, I'm a bit concerned. This doesn't look like the normal wiring scheme, at least as far as I can tell. And second, the switches don't look to have eyelets where they'd need to be in order to pull off this mod. Here's a picture:
Am I just seeing this wrong, or do I need different switches if I'm going to do this?
Thanks!

Re: Yet another Jaguar series wiring question
Looks like the standard jaguar wiring to me. You're going to have to buy new switches in order to do the series wiring.
Heres a link, you need the 2 way option: https://www.stewmac.com/Pickups_and_Ele ... tches.html
If you look around you can probably find them cheaper.

Re: Yet another Jaguar series wiring question
I believe Fender has generally used DPDT switches there even though the standard wiring only requires SPDT. But they obviously decided to save 50 cents on the CP and use SPDTs instead.
There are several ways of doing series with the usual DPDTs ...
Mod #22 here (for the jag) uses both pickup DPDT switches ...

Some series additions also swap the usual-DPDT strangle switch for a phase switch at the same time ...

This series mod only requires one DPDT (and sacrifices the strangle switch for that)..

Several stock jaguars use a 4-way switch to add series - the Marr and American Professional.
