D’addario NYXL
Anyone have experience with these? I’d love to try them but my main fear is that they’re mostly steel and I’ll xhew my frets down faster than I already do. What makes them so much better than regular D’addarios?

Re: D’addario NYXL
I’ve been using them for about 3 years now. Previous to that was Ernie Ball. I find the NYXL’s last longer, and to me, sound better. I haven’t came across any fret wear so far. I suppose the cost could be subjective when you can get 2-3 packs of cheap strings for the price of a pack of NYXL’s.
I’m sure others will chime in far better descriptive experiences. My only compaint is the included sticker is generic & stupid looking. I throw that into the recycling.

They won't chew up your frets, they are not stainless steel. The main thing about the nyxls is the new core and plain wire alloy, which is why they feel like they have a bit more tension than regular xl's. Also I assume the nickel plated wrap has been re-engineered as well. I think theyre good strings, but not 12.99 good. If they were under 10 dollars I would probably switch from regular xl's.
