Hey everybody,
Can anyone tell me if any of the other commonly available jazzmaster style trem arms will fit the collet in the Mastery trem?
I want to experiment with other shorter arms shapes - on the cheap if possible.
I tried all the strat style arms I have and all are too thick.
TIA

An AV65 Jazzmaster trem arm will sort of fit, but the Mastery has that little spring/ball catch mechanism to hold the arm in, so you'd probably need to chamfer the end to get it in past that. There would still be a little play in it. The AV65 I have on hand is around 0.182"-0.183", while the Mastery is about 0.187"-0.188" diameter.
All pain and troubles melted away like lemon drops beyond the contrails across the sky.

Be careful. The mastery trem is pretty finicky. I had one get badly stuck once after a luthier removed it. Had to get a replacement unit from Mastery, which they were none too pleased to do.

Mine seems to come out easily when I dont want it to; I hate having to take the whole unit off to reinstall the arm - I like to spring ball tight to keep the arm from flopping.
I guess I'll just mosey on down to the local machine shop - they were pretty cool when I asked them to make me a spindle extension for my record player.
