Gabriel Tenorio Strings
Anyone else using these? I had my Jazzmaster set up with them. Now I want them on everything.
I’ve played most of the common brands over the years. I usually keep Ernie Ball around because you can get them almost anywhere. These just sound good.

I tried to buy some, but the shipping cost to the other side of the world was a problem. I know Curtis Novak uses them, so that's a fair endorsement.

I bought through Chicago Music Exchange. They don’t stock all sizes, but the super 10’s they do. They work great on my JM.

I'm not sure where you are, but James Gascoigne at www.homeoftone.co.uk brings them into the UK. He's a good chap to deal with and could be worth an email.
I use them on my JM and love 'em too.

Just ordered a couple of sets for my Jaguar and Mustang - expensive, but my last couple of guitars have come with NYXLs and those are $12.99 at GC so the difference isn't that extreme if they really last a long time.

I also use NYXL’s. I’m interested in your take of these GT’s.

Re: Gabriel Tenorio Strings
I have been mostly using NYXLs 10s for the last couple months, but tried 2 sets of the Gabriel Tenorio Super 10s before going back to the NYXLs. I liked the way that the Gabriel Tenorio strings sounded for the most part (very balanced), but the low E sounded pretty dead on both sets (on two different JMs). I tried re-doing my setup and messing with the nut slots when I installed the second pair, but I just couldn't get used to that low E sound. Granted, my only experience with roundcores, so maybe that is part of the sound.
They did last a long time though and were very stable with trem usage. Ultimately I just liked the snap (zingyness?) of the NYXLs and they last me quite a long time as well.

I'd never heard of these strings, but got some 11-50s on a whim after reading this thread. So far I really like the feel of them and tuning has been very stable. Going to give them a workout in practice tomorrow.

Re: Gabriel Tenorio Strings
So I gave the JM50s chance for a week but they weren't for me. If anybody wants them, I'll send them to you for just the cost of shipping. I took these off carefully, and they were cut to fit a Jazzmaster, so as long as that's what you're putting them on you should be fine.. Just send me a PM, I'd hate to see them just go to waste.

I've been using the 11-50 and love them. They stay in tune, sound great, and last a long time.

I think this is a fair review. I also went back to NYXLs after giving GT strings a fair run. NYXLs breakup better to my ear.kingmedicine wrote: ↑Sun Oct 21, 2018 7:59 amI have been mostly using NYXLs 10s for the last couple months, but tried 2 sets of the Gabriel Tenorio Super 10s before going back to the NYXLs. Definitely a quality product. The wait time, cost, and service are all things you'll have to come to grips with if you want to use them.
