Jazzmaster pickup size

Post by Nickfred » Mon Oct 01, 2018 7:18 am

Just need to if all JM pickups are the same size? Got a bit confused something I read online.
I have a Classic Player Jazzmaster and I'm not happy with the sound of the pickups. Don't think they sound very Jazzmaster'ish...

All JM covers are the same size, as are standard JM bobbins.

The only thing that varies is string spacing and polepiece size, where American vintage specs and Japanese specs differ, and some aftermarket pickups do too. The vast majority of aftermarket pickups fit the American spec covers just fine.

CP JM has 0076313000 in the neck and 0076314000 in the bridge. Higher output according to ..

But overall size should be the same as vintage as mbene085 says. Only (some/all?) Japanese JM pickups are a different winding design / depth (but same length / width as standard) ...

Thanks. I've thought of going for antiquity's. So they'll fit right?

Yes they'll be fine. Seymour Duncans are "standard" size. The antiquities are very nice pickups - good choice.

Cheers!
