Jaguar pickup switching problem
greetings - I just purchased a 2002 Japanese Jaguar. it's a great guitar but there is a weird issue with the switching on the lead circuit. when both pickups are off instead of being silent it goes into what sounds like the rhythm circuit (not exactly the same but about 95% the same tone). also the bridge pickup on lead circuit is only about half volume of the neck pickup. has anyone come across this? easy fix or is it a pickup issue? thanks!

Re: Jaguar pickup switching problem
Best guess would be modded wiring. Try hooking it up to a multimeter and seeing what the resistance of each position reads with all the knobs on 10. Typical single coil pickup ranges are going to be somewhere in the 5-8k ohm range. Your neck and bridge pickup should read roughly in this range. If one of the positions is double then it probably has a series modification. Your normal middle position will be parallel, so it should read about half the average of the neck and bridge whatever they are. This is usually in the 3-5k ohm range. It won't answer all possible causes, but it may help narrow it down some.
