Had the guitar about 2 weeks now, and it's great, other than the bridge sucked. Got a mastery which got here yesterday, so I installed that, and while doing it put in 500K pots, and thought I'd adjust the tension of the collet since it was SUPER loose (read: wouldn't 'click' at all)... so I go to squeeze it, and 3 of the 4 arms on the collet are already cracked, and basically just came right off with finger pressure.
Emailed Fender hoping they might just send me one, who told me to contact Wildwood for the part, or to go to an authorized service center...
At this point I'm just wondering if I should remove the middle man and get the Staytrem collet/arm... is that the only real option? Being able to keep the arm in place would be a plus, but it's a bit spendy after dropping $185 on the Mastery, and $93 on a Staytrem (they were out of stock when I ordered the Mastery, but then back in, so I ordered thinking I'll sell the one I don't prefer).

You could just get the collet and put a hose clamp on it.
This is an excellent rectangle

Wildwood is working on a replacement part... in the meantime I ordered the Staytrem collet/arm... I'll hold onto the replacement in case I decide to go back to stock at any point.

Re: Busted collet on my brand new AVRI JM...
I did the exact same thing to the collet on an AVRI trem. This was before I read how fragile they are.
I bought a new collet from eBay & installed it into the trem, inserted the trem bar, and put a zip tie around the collet and zipped the tie ad tight as it would go. I checked the bar swing with each click before I was satisfied with it being so tight. I then installed the trem onto the body.
That was 2 or 3 years & it has held up great since that day. I have always left the bar in for what that’s worth.
