Re: 60s Lacquer Sympathetic Vibration Troubles
ummmm.... i didn't really notice anything off-putting or bad.
i think that might be the harmonics that happen from the tremolo to behind the bridge. said harmonics are definitely more noticeable on jags and JMs that have the traditional tremolo location such as yours.

Its the high pitch whining/feedback like thing going on. It's definitely a new thing. It did not happen before the set up, and when I try and play it out, it quickly becomes way too annoying to use.MKR wrote: ↑Thu Apr 12, 2018 6:10 amummmm.... i didn't really notice anything off-putting or bad.

That does sound weird.
Roll the volume back a touch to '8' or so. If this kills it off I'd go back to the 500K pots.

Turning the volume down does not make it act like a lesser value pot, it still see a it as 1 meg.
It really sounds like a microphonic tube, when you say it happens on many amps does that mean every amp you have tried or just some?
Otherwise it is a microphonic pickup, both you test for in the same way flick the pickup/tube with your finger, do you get that sound?
Sounds more like a tube though.
Turning down the volume is not the same as a lower value pot, the pickup still sees the full load, the amp sees it more or less that way though. My guess is your inceased high end is aggravating the microphonic tubes you never realized you had.

Logic gates based on billiard-ball computer designs have also been made to operate using live soldier crabs of the species Mictyris guinotae in place of the billiard balls.

If it happening unplugged and also with a capo I suspect it's somewhere from the bridge back. Maybe something rattling in the trem ? Try having someone mute each string behind the bridge and touch the trem plate with their finger while you strum.

Get an AVRI tremolo unit and sell the junky one that came with your 60s lacquer.

Looking at the video, it seems that the bridge pickup is really near to the problematic strings. Does the issue go away if you lower that side of the pickup a little?
if you mute the B and E behind the bridge does it still happen?
