Broken Trem Arm

Post by oneleftnut » Sun Apr 08, 2018 4:28 pm

So I have one of those American Standard Silverburst JMs. It has a threaded Trem arm and the whole assembly became loose when I was trying to take the arm off. When I turned counter clock wise the arm didn’t move but the entire assembly. Needless to say I tried holding the receptacle with pliers and unscrew the arm and it broke off. Yes I’m a ham handed dummy. That being said, I need to buy a new arm and assembly but I don’t know which. The only ones I see are pop in trems. I’d prefer screw in. Is there a direct replacement for what I need?

Thanks all
John

I think the blacktop Jazzmaster tremolos are threaded? Maybe it was classic player ones?

Did a little researching myself. Looks like a Staytrem is the way to go. I just ordered a 3/8ths with an ivory tip. I like the idea of a non flopping wiggle stick!
