Interested in Novak JM-Fat pickup, will it pair ok with stock AV65 neck?
Have a wildwood thin skin '65 reissue, not sure exactly what the stock pickups are, but I had to set the neck super low and the bridge quite high to get the volumes to sorta balance out. However even with the bridge high, it still feels like my '09 Am Std Strat's bridge pickup is higher output! I can get Pinch Harmonics's much louder on that guitar. Thinking a JM-FAT from Novak might be what I'm looking for, hopefully the slightly increased output also translates to easier pinch harmonics. Was wondering whether it would be worth it to replace the stock neck with a JM-V neck as well

I'm actually interested in a Strat sounding Jazzmaster neck pickup... does anyone make those?

Any and every custom winder, might check out the V-mod JM pickups from the American Pros (the coil is much more strat-shaped than JM-shaped), the unloved MIJ stock pickups you can find floating around...
Or, of course, with a little foam packed in to the cover to keep things from moving, you can fit any strat pickup you like under a JM cover!

Still won't sound like a Strat.
Buy a Strat if that's the sound you actually want.

Find some MIJ JM pickups. They *are* basically wound more like strat pickups than JM pickups. I'm about to finally replace mine with something more vintage correct (after owning the guitar for 20+ years), but in a lot of ways they're not terrible at all (I've played them reasonably happily for all this time).
