mastery bridge and buzz stop

Post by northernlights » Fri Feb 09, 2018 5:58 am

hey guys! i got my new american original 60's jazzmaster and replaced the bridge with mastery. i applied what mastery says but i hear sometimes buzz mostly top strings. i didnt do anything with saddles, should i leave that way or rise them little bit without ruining the radius? and what're your thoughts about buzz stop? is there anyone using them? I saw all nash guitars come with buzz stop.

If you use a buzz stop, much of the point of the mastery is lost.

It's possible that the break angle is insufficient, and that shimming the neck and raising the bridge could help.

How much is a Buzzstop? $15-ish? Seems like a no-brainer, to at least try. If it works for you, that's awesome! You get to enjoy playing your guitar 8)

Where's the buzzing coming from? Sounds like it just needs a setup.

I assumed it had been set up, but absolutely, this is the basic first step before troubleshooting anything!

i dont know, i setted it up but not sure that i did everything :D as i said i didnt touch the saddles, and they move right and left side just a little bit freely lol i really like mastery than stock bridge but that buzz thing made me upset. maybe it's because of the strings. i'll change the strings and try again.

Probably the annoying intonation springs rattling causing the 'buzz'.

Both of mine did that until I sleeved them with (clear) heatshrink tubing. Oh, and then I sold them.
