Buzz on some frets

Post by idropinus » Mon Jan 08, 2018 7:56 am

Hi, I have a J Mascis. I recently modded it and I also changed strings to a superior size (from 0.10 to 0.11). It all went well, but today (a week after the mod) it started to buzz on some frets, on the 9th of the G and B strings and on the 14th of the D string, exactly. And the guitar never had fretboard issues before. Is it for the string change? Is there something I can do?

Changing your string gauge will also affect your action and intonation, I believe.

Needs a setup. Whether that involves a fret level will depend on whether I needs one. But this is one of those "need to check it out in person to diagnose it" issues.

Yeah, changing your string gauge will affect action & intonation. So first check the neck curvature, string height, length etc
