Post by nico2mars » Mon Dec 04, 2017 9:50 am

Can anyone tell me about the pickguard shape of the JM US vs MiM vs Blacktop ones ?
I want to buyon eBay a blank pickguard with US/MiM shape no holes, but I 'm not shure it will fit my JMBT.... any comments ?

Blacktop guards have a big cutout under the bridge so that you can use a TOM bridge without a big shim. Otherwise, they're the same as USA/MIM/Squier guards in terms of outline.

It's Fender Japan (and Allparts, which are based on MIJ) that have a different shape. Don't get me started on Warmoth...that's a whole other kettle of fish.

That should work fine. I just ordered a CP JM pickguard and a USA spec one from WD, and they were identical except for the bridge cutout (The CP has the same TOM as your BT).
