Knobs too high after changing pickguard on my JM.

Hi everyone!
I changed today my stock Jazzmaster Classic Player plastic pickguard for a gold aluminium one that's thinner.
The thing is that the volume and tone knobs "float" and don't rest on the pickguard.
What do you guys do in this case? Buy higher ones (if they exist)? Thanks for helping!

Put more washers around the pot shafts underneath the guard.
