Mustang bodies aren't as thick as other Fender bodies. They are 1.5 inches thick whereas other models are 1.75 inches thick. So my question is this: do mustangs need shorter neck mounting screws than non-mustang Fenders?
Thanks!

Re: Mustang neck mounting screw length?
I think the re-issues I've seen did have shorter screws, but never measured them. When I put together a Warmoth Mustang, it was obvious that regular neck screws would have come right up into the finger board, so I lopped a bit off the tips.
All pain and troubles melted away like lemon drops beyond the contrails across the sky.

Hmmmm, I would recommend maybe using shorter screws. After a cold spell with no heating in my house, the glue under the fretboard had become brittle. We then did some work on my original 65 Mustang and when reattaching the neck, we actually manage to pop off part of the fingerboard.

Some Mustangs have a spacer 'gasket' that Jags and Jazzmasters do not.
