I stopped by my mom's to use her natural enzyme cleaner for the dog's leftovers. I did one round of it so far, and the odor is seriously depleted. I left it in an open room so i can't say it's totally gone but it's curbed. I'll do another bath tomorrow.
Glad to hear that it's working! I reckon a few more blasts will do a lot of good.

So, everything everyone's said is probably a better idea (also, hooray! maybe problem solved already), but here's another brainstormy idea:

Have you read about this black ice cream thing?

and that mixing activated charcoal with food/drink is bad because it will soak up all yer medicines and birth control.

Annnnyway,
I wonder how well this stuff mixed in a paste (with water or something even faster drying) could absorb cigarette smell.

The easiest solution would be to turn the case inside-out. Then the outside will no longer be stinky.

Okay, y'all, as an update:

When i got this case i couldn't even breathe around it. If it was in the same room it would make the room smell like a chain smoker's in honestly 5 minutes. I have done three washings with this product:

And i can confirm that it has helped massively. I would have kept doing more but i had to fly home, so i did all i could. The case smells fine, unless you put your nose directly onto it for a good sniff; then it smells like ashy lavenders. On a hot and humid day, i occasionally get a whiff now and then of the ashy lavender but this is a vast improvement. I'd recommend giving this product a go. It's cheaper than a new case.
