RD bass copy setup

Post by SRXIII » Sat Apr 15, 2017 2:11 pm

Hi, I have this RD bass copy from pitbull guitars kit, I'm almost done but set up is pretty tricky here.
Bridge is a 3 points thunderbird style kind of deal.
So when i tune up strings are stuck to the fretboard and when i raise the bridge they are still to close from the fretboard from fret 1 to fret 4/5. From the 12th upward they're way too high.
I already put a shim in the neck pocket.
I'd like to set it up relatively quick but it's causing me an headache at the moment. Any ideas or tips to share?

If your problem is similar to this drawing.
Check first the neck/neck pocket join...
Than, the relief of the neck for may be adjust the truss rod.
And the nut.

Hope you've got things worked out with the Bass... I'm kinda curious how you do like the kit? I spotted their FS-1 (starcaster) and RC-1M (ricky) kits and am very curious if one is worth adding to my birthday list... :)
