'60s Lacquer Jaguar volume control issue?

Can't seem to find a reference to this.

My '60s Lacquer Jag, the lead volume control is basically zero for the first three quarters, then works in the last quarter. (Rhythm works fine.) Trying to figure out if I should order a new pot before I take it in for a setup after I install the StayTrem I ordered or if it's more likely a cleaning/wiring issue that won't require a new pot.

I guess the reason for this is that the volume pot installed in the 60s Lacquer is linear one. You can switch to a logarithmic pot and see if that helps.
