best material to shim mustang/staytrem saddles?

feeler gauge? dense felt? rubber? I want to maintain the radius but raise all the saddles up a bit. stop them drifting sideways and stop the strings fouling on the back edge.

cut a bit of card the width and lenth of the bridge then trim back so you can still use the height adjust screws.

Metal shim stock. But yes cutting up a cheap feeler gauge would work too .. and allow you to choose exactly the right thickness.

Find some scrap/offcut steel pallet strapping. Most factory type businesses should have something suitable
And cut to size with tinsnips

Probably a bit less headachey than hacking up feeler guages, or buying steel that thin from a metal supplier.
YMMV.

Pieces of feeler gauge sounds like a fantastic idea to me. I see multiple sets of 32 pieces on ebay for under $10. That should be more than enough shim material for dozens of bridges.

oooooooh I like this idea. I have no idea where to get some though? Might have to go poking around the local warehouses.
