St.Vincent's Ernie Ball Music Man Signature Guitar

Post by brndgtl » Wed Jan 20, 2016 5:37 am

Ernie Ball just released a new video with Annie Clark showing the creation of her signature guitars. It's pretty cool, even if they're not your thing.

I love how into this she is. She can be a real inspiration to young musicians, especially girls, I hope. Going to show this to my daughter tonight!

The video is here https://youtu.be/5M5qpaQ1h9o

Yeah, I wasn't that into it at first but this video has definitely sold it to me. I think I'd definitely go for this over, for example, the Billy Corgan one on the other thread.

It isn't. I watched the whole thing to make sure and saw no movement. :jacked:

I really like some of the elements of that guitar. I love new custom designed guitars and I think this one looks cool, but I would never want to replace the ones I have with it. Perhaps if I was trying to sound like St. Vincent more I would?

To me, the headstocks look a bit deformed on Music Man guitars but I could get over it if it played great. Wish it came in white...

I like the guitar, but probably not as much as the Albert Lee, which Annie Clark also regularly plays. I'm surprised they only did it in two colors with one of them being black.

The inlays are really cool.

I wish there were more "making of" videos for guitars like this.

(Not that it really matters, but this isn't technically an offset. The waist appears to be symmetrical.)

I didn't think so. A lot of us have been obsessed with guitars since we first saw them.

Yep, it's very effective. I don't think she's acting, she seems very genuine.

As with most of you, I'm not a fan of the headstock. Given how angular and quirky the body is, I'm surprised that the headstock doesn't somehow match that aesthetic. Still, I'm chuffed for her that she's got a signature guitar - she's a fantastic guitarist.

What a great video and her passion for her craft shows through clearly. Her last statement about the way she feels about playing guitar really resonated with me personally.

I never realized Annie Clark was the real deal until I watched this video a few months ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NE7R4nKBK8Y" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think this is a great "artist" model and quite frankly, I find it to be a new and inspiring design. Great work Annie and Music Man

I kinda like it too, somehow  Not a guitar that I would buy and probably not my sound but I'd want to try it someday...

I like Annie, but yeah, I too found it very cloying.

It's just a guitar.

If I wake up tomorrow and find that I cannot play guitar any more, I will play piano.

Oh! I just noticed the new knobs. The early images just had strat knobs (although it's so subtle that I'm kinda Berenst(E)ain Bear'd).
