Never sold anything apart from the first guitar I ever bought, a new MIM Strat (rosewood and black) that I think I paid about $330 or $350 new for it in 1991, and the salesperson told me that it was made in the US but only painted in Mexico because the factory down there wasn't fully online yet. This site seems to confirm it, though:

Anyway, I got rid of it as soon as I bought my MIJ Jaguar because I felt it self-indulgent to own more than one solid-body guitar at a time. (If then-me could only see now-me!) No idea how good of a guitar it was, since I was just starting out, but I kind of wish I still had it, especially since I've never owned a Strat since. The silver lining is that I sold it for what I paid for it, which doesn't happen often when you've bought new!
