werd.  I *could* have my guy make one, but if this dude is gonna make a bunch of 'em, let's go with him.
yeah well do you think it will cost as much as this guy is saying it will, if you make one?

Maybe if someone that has a real XII bridge could take as many measurements as possible it might be easier than sending me their real one.

I don't think the saddles, springs and screws should be a big problem. I'll have an update on things later tonight.

Ok. I've organized to have the bridge plate and saddles made as soon as I can get the exact measurements. Can someone PLEASE help me with the measurements of the bridge plate and saddles? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

mjet traced his control plate and bridge base in this thread if that's what you're looking for .. I've lost track of who has seen what since there's about 4 or 5 repro XII threads going by now.

LOL! I know! I'm all confused and frankly have been mildly disinterested almost from the start. Not being judgemental, to each his own. I just gave up trying to straighten it all out in my mind regarding who's doing what and when.

maybe someone could gather up all the good information from all the XII threads and start a new thread. Delete the old ones. I've been having trouble navigating around all the XII threads myself

Here's a couple things:

You can copy any patented design for your own use.  Patents protect products and technologies from trade infringement, but who is to stop you from making your own [insert anything that is patented] for your own fun.

Patent drawings do not have to be dimensionally or pictorallyaccurate at all.  They are only to convey the sciences/principals/technologies that are going to be protected by the patent.  If you patent a shoe lace, you don't need to show the whole shoe lace, only the parts that do the work (going through the shoe's eyelets and ,aybe the knot).

Can anyone tell me the width off the saddles? I'm expecting them to be a little more than half the width of a 6 string saddle.

.. Actually, it might be best to get a measurement across all 12 saddles.

Here's the Danelectro (12 String Danelectro Non-Tremolo Bridge for Guitar, Chrome, 2-1/16" Spacing):

It looks a bit more like what we're going for than the older Gotoh 12-string bridges that look like a Strat hardtail (rectangular) but is still smaller than the Electric XII Bridge - and the angles are cut a bit severely, IMHO.

Here's a message from another thread with detailed photos that show the dimensions.

how is getting this guy to make some bridges going?

i was up at my local music store and i remember last time i was there asking how one of the guys got a humbucker into his anadoized pickguard. and one of the guys who works there, his dad is a machinist!!! that's how he fit the bucker in there.

i asked the guy is his dad could make the bridge he said hey he would shouldn't have problem...

i asked how much he said between 100 and 200... and i think i could get a free CAD drawing with it!

i'm going back up there on tuesday to get his dads number and bring him the pictures that i've got, from all you kind guys here, of the bridge.

i may know a guy who may let me borrow his XII bridge for a while if i give him a could of bucks.... if this is possable for 100 bucks each or so, then i am having a few made. Ifthat guy will let me borrow his bridge to  make an exact copy of i will be really happy!

ok... just an update on from my front.

The biggest problem in cloning a XII bridge is finding someone to borrow said bridge from.

Val66c is trying to fabricate one from pics guys here have posted, and I've offered to buy his prototype. If it works in my project, I'll have someone make a CAD drawing of Val66c's bridge, and release it 'open source', if you will.

All we have to do now is wait for Val66c to get done fabricating a bridge.
