Re: Wadeaminute's Super-Sonic Thread
That's fantastic Wade! I watch a lot of the Pedals And Effects videos with Nick and Juan. With his personality, I'm very surprised he doesn't have an orange one...

He's welcome to my orange one, as it is for sale, but he doesn't like the necks on the Pawn Shop series.
I've sold my red one and one of my white ones, and the orange will hopefully go soon. I'm keeping the other six.
My purple one is the XII now.

Re: Wadeaminute's Super-Sonic Thread
There's such a shortage of orange guitars in music these days. Such a shame

Re: Wadeaminute's Super-Sonic Thread
( I originally pm'd mr wadeaminute with this , but thought I'd open it up to anyone that might have the answers)
Hi wadeaminute
Firstly I am very impressed by your collection, outstanding.
I'm new to the boards, I have arthritis and find 24 inch scale guitars work best. I have been playing Jaguars, but am always looking for other 24 in scale guitars.
I've only recently discovered the Supersonics & thought I'd ask you a few questions.
1st off smaller necks are better for my hands and from what you say, the Squire Japanese have the smaller of the necks, I was wondering, whats the radius of the fingerboard on them. I'd heard that the Squire Jpn had a 7.25 and the Fender pawnshops had a 9.5 any truth to this? Also how would you describe the shape of the Squire Jpn necks, thin C? And the fret size and height?
I noticed you were selling off a few of your Supersonics, any of the Squire Jpn ones you'd consider parting with?
thank you for your time
have a good week
( again anyone who might know the answers to any of the questions, please let me know
Thanks)

Re: Wadeaminute's Super-Sonic Thread
I too find 24" scale necks to suit my hands and playing better. I actually owned a Squier Super Sonic years ago, that I liked a lot. Back then I didn't think too much about scale length and neck shapes though, so I can't really tell you how that neck differs from my Fender Super Sonic that I have now. But I can tell you that the Fender neck is a C-shaped one that's fairly thick, not thin at all.
My recommendation would be to do what I did - go to Warmoth's webpage and order the type of body you like (the Super Sonic suffers from neck dive, not a good thing for your hands) and most importantly, several different types of neck profiles. They offer 7(!) different neck profiles for their Mustang neck, among them the Standard Thin.
As for bodies, they offer 5 different bodies to go with the 24" scale Mustang neck: Mustang, Jaguar, Jagstang, 7/8Strat and 7/8Tele.

Re: Wadeaminute's Super-Sonic Thread
The Squier Super-Sonic necks are tiny, and the Fender Super-Sonics have quite fat necks. They are very different. I like both, but I got rid of two of my three Fenders and only kept the one I have set up as a XII (the larger neck is great for the extra strings).
None of mine neck dive. Even my XII, with the extra tuners, stays level.

Re: Wadeaminute's Super-Sonic Thread
I've wondered for a while now how different my two Super-Sonic necks really were. I have no idea how to go about checking radii, but I can now definitively say my Fender is 2/16” wider at the nut. Both Super-Sonics are 2" wide at the pocket. The finish on my Squier feels thinner, and the neck on my Fender feels nearly as shallow as the Squier. (I don't like a deep neck at all). I think they both feel great.

Re: Wadeaminute's Super-Sonic Thread
I've had both and I really prefer the Squier neck. Esp the one I have now. Theres some magic in these mid 90's Fender Japan instruments. This is my 2nd Squier SS and it really is much better than my first (and the Fender). Lighter, better fit and finish and flawless neck + fretwork. The Fender I had was heavy and had some sloppy fretwork.

My silver one is gold, too. My coral one was silver, but I don't remember how gold it was before I painted it.

Re: Wadeaminute's Super-Sonic Thread
It's been a while.
I got to meet Nick Reinhart at a Tera Melos show in Toronto two weeks ago. Put me on his guest list, which was appreciated.
Sweet guy. Super-talented. Really enjoyed the show.
He played his black Super-Sonic with a MIDI controller. I don't think he's done anything with his white one yet.
I am hoping that Fender will make him a signature model of a Super-Sonic at some point, and that he'll get me one. He joked that it would be called the "Super-Duper-Sonic" on his Instagram a while back.

Re: Wadeaminute's Super-Sonic Thread
My sparkly blue Super-Sonic has been my main guitar for about 3 years now, even though I bought it brand new in the 90s. But now I'm after a new build, and I want to buy a Musikraft neck that's close to my Squier Super-Sonic.
Does anyone know what the neck profile on Squier Super-Sonics is?
Wadeaminute only says that it's a thin C.

Re: Wadeaminute's Super-Sonic Thread
Pictures have returned! My website was down for 7 or 8 months, so my pictures disappeared.
No new Super-Sonic news for me, other than Squier releasing new ones in 2020.
In sparkly-guitar-related news, I have had this for almost two years:
