The latest update to one of my Super-Sonics was to install a Dimarzio FS1 fat strat pickup in the bridge position of the JR tribute / white one. So, while it still looks exactly the same, it now has the same bridge pickup that Johnny Ramone actually used.

It sounds much better to my ears than it did with the Dimarzio YJM stacked humbucking pickup that had been in it for the last three years. I am pretty sure that this one is done now.

So eight of the nine are now finished. The only one that is likely to be modified in the near-ish future is the red sparkle Pawn Shop XII. I could simply put the YJM and set it up with volume and tone knobs and a coil-split. Or maybe actually get Fender XII - style pickups from Seymour Duncan or someone else.

But I am open to ideas. Anyone? I still have stock white and orange sparkle ones, too.

This thread has ignited/refueled much GAS for a Super-Sonic.

That is interesting. I like that it is a hard tail.

Never thought these were that cool, but OP, oh my GOD those are cool as hell. I'd like to see an offset tremolo in one - and I think that's why I really dislike the Jagmaster, it just seems like a cheap cost cutting thing to put a Strat assembly in a guitar that looks like that.

Anyway, OP, great collection. You've converted me - I am now a fan :)

What a great collection! I stumbled on these guitars recently and it's definitely on top of my list of wants. It checks all the boxes for me, the most important being totally irreverent looking and LOUD! ;D :-*

I can't believe these were being blown out for $350 at one point. I'm always late to the party...

Having seen these in person, I can vouch the awesomeness of the "stairs of super sonic"! :-*

You're my Supersonic hero! Your collection is so great.

I only have a blue one. One of the former owners put a seymour duncan invader in bridgeposition. But did a mistake soldering. So i have an out of phase sound in the middle position. But as a big fan of the out of phase sound i have nothing to do, cause it sounds great for me...

I love this shape. I've always had a fantasy of finding one that has an oversized body. For some reason I think it would look rad.

This is one of those body shapes that I doubt I'd be into if it weren't reversed. And this is coming from someone who never had an interest in reverse headstocks or bodies. It's so wrong it's right!

I wish I would have bought one of the Pawn Shops when they were new.

Actually, I wish I would have bought all the Pawn Shop models when they were making them.
