The Thomann Bilinda-stang - NGD - pictures and review pg. 2

Post by Ceylon » Sun Oct 19, 2014 8:55 am

I bet many of you already know that Thomann now offers a Harley Benton Bilinda-stang, or "MS-60" in Vintage White for just over 100€, just under 100£.

For that price it seems pretty sweet. It has Wilkinson pickups and "DLX" tuners for whatever it's worth. But it's biggest merit is probably still as a fun modding platform for the offset crowd.

Which is how I intend to use mine Yeah, couldn't resist the GAS at that price. I'll return with more info and a review whenever the package shows up.

Is that the same guitar as the Bilinda-stang labelled Jay Turser?

Meaning, is it the same production line with different labels on the headstock?

Pretty sure the jay turser has a really weird bridge, almost rickenbacker like.

Having recently been craving a PureSalem Reverberator, this looks like a fantastic mod platform (though probably not to the same quality etc).

Thomann says 610mm ( = 24").

I guess they're somehow related. They're too alike not to be. I also think you can buy a similar thing labeled BaCH.

2flAz, I was also thinking about getting a Squier neck for it in time. Not sure if it'd fit though. It could be just the picture but the neck pocket looks more Tele-squared that Jag-curved.

EDIT: Maybe not

For some reason, I like the way this one looks a little better than the Turser one. I'm not sure why, though. Maybe the pickguard or the bridge maybe? I wonder if Fender would ever consider doing something like this. The Pawnshop series would be perfect for it.
