I'd like to take a chainsaw into that store and dispose of all their guitars. Kill them forever as the title suggests.

From the other thread, the PRS Fender. It just needs the Gibson robot system to make it "perfect"..

I love oddball guitars - is it heresy to try to kill a Fender Stratocaster? Like, if you said, from this point forward, no Fender Stratocaster shall ever be made ever again....and you'd still have enough Strats in existence from beginning of production to last a millennium?
I'm not a hater, there's just not a strat I've ever bonded with - even though it's the first guitar I ever wanted before I played guitar.

I feel the same about the Gibson Les Paul. There are just too many Les Pauls around. The first Les Paul that really caught my attention was the Epiphone with single coils that just came out - it was something else, design-wise at least. Then I played it. Sounds like shit.

I would say Les Pauls too. Body is really uncomfortable for me and I think they look horrible. And everybody plays them wrong, akways on the bridge pup into some fizzy overdriven Marshall.
And those hardtail jazzmasters with humbuckers and no rhythm circuit.

Lol why is this a thing? I have gone into so many different music stores in my life that say the same exact thing with the same exact inventory and the same exact attitude. It's bonkersMKR wrote: ↑Wed Mar 19, 2014 3:59 amthere's a music store down the street from my house. I have a real love/hate thing with positions 2 and 4 on a Strat. Some players make them sound great. With others it’s like nails on a chalkboard. I’m not sure which I am, so I don’t play my Strat much.

The guitar of every one of those anal bastards that went home and did something like measure their action with their $300 calipers and then came back the next day complaining that the action was off by 1/128th demanding satisfaction.

Re: Guitars you would like to kill forever.
I do NOT understand people's hatred for the robot tuning system. Who could be against that? Every venue I've ever played in has been of a wildly different temperature and humidity than the previous place I played my guitar, which means it isn't going to be stable until it has had 24 hours or so to acclimatize. If you are on stage and your guitar can tune itself during a short mute in the middle of a song...
Oh wait. I forgot. You know what audiences love? They love to stand there and watch bands tune. There is nothing, and I mean nothing more enthralling than watching a band tune their guitars between songs.

Re: Guitars you would like to kill forever.
I have bigger issue with musicians who never bother to learn the technique of tuning on the fly, always appreciate those who can do so without missing a beat or leaving an obvious a hole in the song.
Kill the robots, musicians will be better off without them.

While I can see how robot tuners might be a good thing on stage, I’d never use them while recording, or even just playing at home... My ears are too picky, unfortunately. Live though, no one’s gonna notice.
As for guitars I’d like to kill... Well I like guitars, I wouldn’t want to kill a guitar!
...except acoustic guitars, I wanna kill acoustic guitars.
