This is definitely a good occasion for it, that's for sure. I really like sonic blue when it is paired up to a white (not mint) guard. The pickup covers and knobs haven't even yellowed much at all.

amazing selection.. I'm tempted to drive down and check them out but I'm quite depressed about those prices.. I think I can now officially count myself out for ever owning an original custom color Jazzmaster  :(

Like Gil at Southworth, he's got a soft spot for custom color offsets, but the prices he asks make me smile
A few years ago however, I couldn't get much out of him for my Sonic Blue/matching head Jag (waaaaay less than $1,000).  I sold it for $1,750, which at the time, was almost unheard of.  I live right down Old G'town Road from Gil's shop, and stop in there often.  I took my son in there a few weeks ago and he absolutely fell in love with a '62 (??) pink JM.  At the measly $4,500, Santa won't be bringing that one down the chimney in a month.  Kid's got taste, anyway!

My first inkling that JM's we're going up up up was a very clean '64 sunburst I sold.  I had bought it from a Yahoo "classifieds2000" ad in 1999 for like $1,000.  I ebayed it in August 2001 hoping to make a few $100, and was amazed that Gil sniped it for something like $1,800.  I delivered it by hand and he was really excited about it.  I thought I had made a killing.  heh.
