Was just thinking about the Failure show I went to last October. They played the full Fantastic Planet album. Ken Andrews was switching between his old Jazzmaster (66?) and a new EGC signature model. Pretty cool.

hardtail jazzmasters with 3-a-side headstocks should more be a thing. but not in metal. bit terminator, bit inhumane.dugwolf wrote:

mary from stereolab, brighton 1993. this was one of my first ever gigs, maybe even the first, though i think that was lush at the zap.

That's Guy Blakeslee of Entrance/The Entrance Band.PJazzmaster wrote:I have no clue who this guy is ... but it's a cool pic / cool guitar so I thought I will share:
Guy told me that that Jaguar actually used to belong to Paz Lenchantin's brother (they played in The Entrance Band together) and she gave it (or loaned it, I can't remember it was 10 years ago or more) to Guy after he passed away.
I'm not sure if Guy still has that guitar or not though.

Corey Hanson from Ty Segall's band. Never heard 'em, but he apparently has a taste for offsets...

Watching season 3 of The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, my mind was blown in multiple stages:
- Holy shit, that's Johnny Marr!
- Holy shit, he's playing his Jag!
- Holy shit, it's the Sherwood Green model!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-ydBNwed9Q
- Holy shit, Johnny Marr was the writer AND performer of the theme song all this time!?
- Holy shit, it DOES sorta sound like a mix of The Smiths and his solo stuff!
I have no idea how I missed all of this for so long, but there you have it.
