We're still almost 1/10th of the way, after a few days.

I linked the petition to a Facebook page for local musicians, but I doubt very many of them know what a Bass VI is.

This guy right here. The Schecter Hellcat VI is my current Bass VI plan, but considering I have to wait till February, Squier has some time. I agree w/the idea that we need more than a couple of colors, but if it's just Black or Sunburst, I'll deal. LPB and it's "Shut up and take my money" indeed.

I would. The thing that kept me from buying one of the recent Fender Japan VI's was the price.

I simply couldn't justify spending that sort of money on a guitar which would probably be a typical #2 or 3, and where I don't know if I'd ever use that heavily. I can afford spending VM-ish prices for that, though.
THIS. I think it could share a some spot as a 12 string, something different. Fun for some songs etc. Probably not your main axe.
Besides that if they are cheap, new players get interested and we maybe get some cool original bass VI players.

I'd get at least one.

Posted link in OzBass forums, I see it's popped up on TalkBass too.

Yeah I just posted it on my Facebook page. I'll buy the Schecter if I have to, but Squier has a few months to get this going :)

On a side note, if the Eastwood Sidejack VI had existed at the time I bought my Hellcat VI, I would be a happier man now. The Schecter's nice save that damn headstock, but the clips I've heard of the Eastwood--super sweet.

signed it and tried to share it in a local facebook group for musicians. All i got was a synthesizer-dude, who tried to explain that all squiers are shit, except for the 80s japanese ones and that a vintage modified bass vi won't be as good as an original fender-one from the sixties. I was just like "oh, really?!" - some guys are weird… ::)

Eh, I don't mind the headstock on the Schecter. I really hate the reverse Strat body style of all the Mosrite stuff. I've gotten to play one of the old versions of the Hellcat VI and it sounded pretty good, but I've heard the newer version and it's certainly better and the styling is more classic

I still don't get some guys. My local music shop refuses to buy Squier VM jazzers and jags, because Squier is cheap and sucks. :fp:
I was almost convinced to buy one just to prove these guys they were wrong. I still can't wait to shove my '67 yamaha sa-50 under there nose to tell them I bought it for 500, while they have it on sale from 2100 to 1400. (they offered 800 to me once)
