I bought the replacement thimbles from the same site. All I had to do was to pull the stock thimbles out (which wasn't an easy task, to be honest) and replace them.

I thought it's well known that AOM replacement bridge has been out of stock for such a long time. Sorry for that.

I can't find any info on the replacement thimbles on John's site, so I'd recommend sending him an e-mail.

Unfortunately, Staytrem aren't making those conversion thimbles any more either.

I'm not sure mine is still a Mascis. All that's left is the neck, tuners, volume, and tone lnobs

:D

I figure mine's probably a mascis because it has more mascis parts than anything else, but it started life as a VM.
This is an excellent rectangle

Hey all.

I noticed a bunch of you swapped your AOM bridges out for staytrem bridges. I was wondering if anyone noticed that their bridges tend to slip under the strings and tilt towards the neck as they play.

Figured I'd ask here, since this is happening to me (on a different guitar, but with a floating bridge and the "modern" trem placement)

Not trying to take this thread off topic - I made one addressing this issue over here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=102727

Since he mentions the body isn't a JMJM, I'd be guessing it's probably a VMJM body with its original surf green finish.
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

If I was a byrd, I'd be mighty sore every time they shut the door and I don't think I'd sing...

I still kick myself for not buying the original JM Sig model, with the sparkle purple finish... I think those were CIJ, instead I got a Classic Player MIM in Black back in 2009.
gary
guitarist / bassist seeking band in Central Ohio, influenced by post-punk and shoegaze, with a heavy dose of goth rock...
