What they are getting at is that there is someone in the classifieds that does a nice matching headstock paint job for the JMJM. You have to email the moderators to get access to the classifieds.

No photos but some of the upgrades on mine include:
TUSQ nut - fitted for 11 gauge strings
Switchcraft Jack
CTS 500k Audio Pots for both tone and volume
StayTrem Bridge
EYguitar Red Tort Guard
Proper setup
Pickups sound fine. Not worth the extra 200 dollars Id want to spend.
Probably going to bypass the rollerpot section eventually.
I also want to sand down the back of the neck to get rid of that gloss but that can be done in the future.

Can anyone tell me if the finish on the Mascis is the same or close to the Marr Jagur?

In my experience the Marr thing has a really sticky nitro feel while the JM has a smooth, beautifully playing satin finish. So no not the same at all. The JMJM is way, way better in my opinion.

This is my current Mascis XII project. I received my new neck from Warmoth and mounted it up today and took a pic of course. Also installed a 12 string TOM and Faction Guitar 12 string tremolo cover plate. Luckily the TOM slid right into the existing Mascis posts without much effort. Next step is tuners and testing. Might eventually swap out pickups for standard JM ARVI or SD Antiquity II, but we'll see.

Yeah, I'm excited. My best advice is if you're building a neck, don't forget it takes 8-10 weeks turnaround if you want it custom at all. I ordered that and then sat around looking for the right deal on a SQJMJM. I'll be sure to post more pics as the project comes along!funnylittle wrote:
