Cool! I might do the same at some point too then! My VM Mustang just arrived yesterday, but I'm pondering whether to keep it or just put $400 more for a used CIJ MG65 (never having actually played it, i wonder if the price diffference is justifiable... at least I like its color better thank the pinkish red of the Squier). Let's see what happens in the end but thanks for the answer.Chris H. wrote:Ive just fitted a MIM 60s Lacquer neck on my VM Jag, it was a straight fit with no problems.Redseele wrote:Quick question: I'm thinking about getting a Vintage Modified Mustang, mainly to mod... so I was wondering if anyone has ever tried putting a Fender (American or Japanese) neck on one of these VM bodies. I've never done this myself (I only have a Mascis Jazzmaster that I love, so I would never think about switching the neck), so I was wondering if it is possible at all.
Thank you all for any helpful information provided

Finally caught up on customer headstocks, decided to work on one for ME for a change! Sprayed the headstock to match and am thinking of upgrading the trem to a Fender one with a lock button and maybe even a mute and bridge cover to complete the vintage look! I'm a sucker for Surf Green!

Recently received an OWT Jazznaster from Thomann, and today it was time to put on a new set of strings (0.11), mustang bridge and replacement ´62 red tortoise pickguard from EY. I have read here in various threads that you also need to replace holding piece for upper controls, but the old one fitted perfectly!
Anyone knows if specifications is changed on later models?
Anyway. I am very pleased with the new pickguard. And the guitar, a bargain!
