Never see him mentioned on here but I rate the sounds Kurt Ralske of Ultra Vivid Scene got out of his Jazzmaster (and occasional Jag). Some of the guitar on the Rev LP in particular is blazing and remarkable, I'm generally not one for ten minute tracks packed with soloing but he does a great job. He had good skill to change it up between albums as well as the sense to call it a day at the top of his game (as a rocker).

Blood and Thunder

Medicating Angels

I had a Jazzmaster when this came out but this was one of the records that sounded like my guitar did with just it plugged straight in, especially the solo around 2min in...beautiful.

At the time I loved how he did everything himself and promptly sacked my band.

the first album, while excellent, is too depressing to listen to more than once a decade, and "Rev" just creeped me out -- i think he had some serious "lapsed Catholic" issues he was working through :)

but "Joy: 1967-90" is perfect in every respect. he really hit the sweet spot on that one, and i still listen to it a lot -

I just spent an ear-breakingly wonderful, transcendental evening in the company of Band Of Skulls. Just wow. A virtuoso of the things you can only do with an offset.

I've only ever heard it pronounced Fru-shon-tay... Atleast that's how the rest of RHCP pronounce it.
He's my all time favorite, too.

Not my favorite(That would be Robert Smith) but one that I don't think was posted yet:

Alessandro Cortini - Nine Inch Nails

He may have only been with them for abit and played mostly keyboards, but he still looked awesome when he did have a guitar.

I try not to be a jerk on messageboards but this thread got me going... Ugh... hipsters are ruining offset guitars. I am ready to switch to Gibson at this point.

That's the same kind of thinking that the hipsters used when the started picking up offsets, "Les Pauls are too mainstream, better get a Jaguar." I would never play something I didn't like or stop playing something I did just because some kids played them on TV.

I would also argue that hipsters are helping offsets! Before they became popular again there was only a couple models available (AVRI, MIJ/CIJ), now we have lots of options!

Having lots of options? I guess. Anyways, my favorite offset player is the Lead Guitar player of Gaslight Anthem-Alex Rosamalia.
Here's a great couple songs with 'em in the vids:
