This is tough because my favorite guitarists all happen to play offsets already and that is what got me interested in them in the first place. I'd say in no particular order...

I'll +1 this.

I've always thought J Mascis was pretty cool. Found this interesting pic of him with that smiley face shirt he seemed to wear a lot in the early Dino days and a JM that appears to be missing a toggle?

When I think of players that have a distinct offset tone I think of Mary Timony, more so on certain albums. And Bluebottle Kiss. Both Jazzmasters but also very recognizable in sound which is a plus.
If OSG has tort me anything...

This thread makes me sad.

I skimmed 14 pages before I saw the first bass player, and as far as I've seen no one has posted the OX:

Marc Ribot

I've been eyeballing this guy's work ever since I listened to Tom Waits' Rain Dogs, and his guitar tone on Ceramic Dog's Your Turn is largely why I got interested in Jaguars.

That is just bizarre. Punk jazz? Terrible? Fantastic? Great tone and "interesting" playing, though...both remind me of Richard Lloyd. Good stuff! And nice jag!
