ah well, thats a pitty then. I've always wanted a CAR CIJ jaguar to go with my CAR jazzmaster. Oh well, guess I'll have to settle for a white one now ;)

OCR I would say is *more* saturated than CAR - the little bit of extra darkness seems to actually come from extra pigment.

Fender still makes CAR on other USA guitars so it's easy to compare them as new finishes.

I actually like OCR better than CAR.  It's a deeper color.

IME OCR is darker and more saturated, OLB is lighter and less saturated.
Times change.  Remember when dog Jimmy used to go white and chalky?  Now it grows hair!  We got used to it. We'll get used to poly. -blueavenger

But, RumorsofSurf, how does it play? And how does it compare to a AVRI? I've never had the privilege to test and CIJ against a AVRI so I'm dying to know how they compare. Even more so because I'm considering of buying a AVRI jaguar to go with my CIJ jazzmaster.

If your new Jag was a Jazzmaster, we'd have an identical pair.  Very nice, my friend! 8)

Thanks, guys!!!  I appreciate all the compliments...  The guitar sounds great.  I'm not sure they are Novak's, though.  The seller claims that they are.  The reason I question it is that I didn't think Curtis used staggered pole pieces.  The seller says that he special ordered them that way.  I should email Mr. Novak to ask if that was an option.  The pickups do sound freakin' great, though!

You can always put some speed holes in it.
I prefer their older stuff.
