The XII bridges are rare. I actually need a couple of saddles for mine for the octave fifth and sixth strings. One of the saddles I have looks like a Mustang saddle cut down, and the other I think is a genuine XII saddle, but the wrong size for that string! A few months ago there was an Ebay auction for six XII saddles, but they were too wide - I think they were in fact Mustang saddles - which could have come from a XII that somebody converted to a six string though.

Neck heel width:  Yes, it is wider than a standard Fender neck - 2 5/8ths from what I remember - I'll measure it, or find the specifications from when I had mine made a little later. This is one of the reasons why I didn't just get a strat XII style neck as that was a slightly cheaper option (the other eason being that the hockey stick headstock just looks right). A standard width neck would work, but there would be gaps either side at the neck pocket.

Pickgguard; I don't have a tracing, but if you're not in a hurry, I'll try and remember to do one next time I restring, or have the pickguard off for any reason (although I don't see that happening soon).

if you could do us a trace at some point it'll be fantastic! :)

we could keep it onlinr for reference too

I bought an NOS XII control plate...once it arrives, I'm scanning it, and putting it on here for reference :)

A Venus XII went cheaply on ebay last week. $550ish I remember....

just for info....

real XII bridges = 6 mounting holes

reissue XII = 5 mounting holes

but they are the same.

I would imagine a luthier would curse anyone wanting them to route a body for XII bridge and mounting block.

Better idea in my opinion if you like the look of XII bridge block look no further than Leo's legacy of the G and L saddle lock bridge:

surpised noone had mentioned it already  :). The XII was the last thing Leon worked on I believe and it's why Musicman and G & L bridges look so much like XIIs!!

Marc - you've got that right! It's much better leaving that kind of thing to a CNC router.

zhivago - I've absolutely no idea - just pointing out the similar heavy duty look and the Fender design legacy. But - I would imagine that as one was designed in the mid 60's for a 12 string and the other in the 80's for a 6 string almost definatley not!!

The bridge plate profile will be completely different.
