Are you sure? My Jazzmaster Tremolo arm would not fit in my Bass VI, it was very loose. However I have a 90's reissue VI. Wonder if it makes a difference?

My reissue arm is a little bit looser, but it still does the job OK, and it's probably way cheaper.

Was the arm from an American reissue?Daysleeper wrote: Are you sure? My Jazzmaster Tremolo arm would not fit in my Bass VI, it was very loose. However I have a 90's reissue VI. Wonder if it makes a difference?

Yeah I got an AVRI Jazzmaster. I used it's trem arm.

That explains it. The Japanese arms (which should go in your VI) have a wider diameter than the vintage or AVRI ones.Daysleeper wrote: Yeah I got an AVRI Jazzmaster. I used it's trem arm.

Re: quick question about VI trem arms
ok - my vi is a 90's reissue...so i'd have to put up with the looseness.
or i can pull my house apart for the next week looking for the original one...

Re: quick question about VI trem arms
Neither... you can buy a new Japanese replacement arm from several different sources . You can try Guitarpartsresource.com or eBay, though there are lots of places that sell them.ahpook wrote: ok - my vi is a 90's reissue...so i'd have to put up with the looseness.

Re: quick question about VI trem arms
i put an AVRI trem collet on my MIJ RI VI trem
and used an AVRI arm
MUCH better
well... anything would be better, as i view a MIJ trem absolutely unusable...
but it's definitely more expensive to replace the collet

good! If you ever lose it again, you can order Japanese trem arms from Guitar Center direct from Fender. Prepare for a LONG wait, but you'll get it eventually.ahpook wrote: i found it !!!
