Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
Doesn’t work. Tolerance too tight to use any tape but not tight enough to hold in place
Only thing I could think off that is not too invasive is to try to make the diameter of the arm larger by spraying with automotive clear coat paint. But I doubt this will work

Can’t you just bend the bottom sleeve part where the end of the arm sits with pliers? I don’t know the correct term, but it’s a very easy adjustment and seems like it will last.

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
That would probably work but without easy access to purchasing a new staytrem collet in the USA Should I mess it up, I would rather not bend (crunch) it
I did paint the end of the arm and made it basically a little bigger around and it’s working to hold it in place so far for the past 30 minutes I’ve been playing it. Probably will wear off soon but maybe not. That was easy
A few positive observations.: the 4 way switch is so much nicer feeling than my AVRI 64 Tele. The lacquer appears to be way more durable than the AVRI 64 Tele I have that relic’d itself the first day I had it. Not important to me but some people seem concerned. The neck is not sticky I had to sand off the lacquer on my tele In order to play it. Not this jag. Beautiful feeling neck. Very similar shape and feel otherwise to my 64 tele neck.
I’m used to Gretch dynasonics and Filtertrons and don’t notice any lack of output from these bare buckle pickups at all. Amazing sounding. Position 1 and 2 are my favorite so far.
One things that struck me as unexpected, the high pass filters are extremely subtle on my jag. I’ve never played another one so I don’t know if they are functioning optimally but really they seeem useless
Guitar is my heaviest but it’s very comfortable compared to my duojet which weights almost the same. Feels like a heavy strat
Guitar was simple to set up and stays in tune very well and has the quality feel and finish of my gretsches and rickenbacker. Worth the $1,800 whereas my tele makes me feel like I paid about $1,500 too much.

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
Is this the same trem collet as the AV65? If it is, beware the temptation to bend the collet teeth with anything, speaking from experience they are super brittle and very easy to break. I even knew this before I tried and still managed to break mine
I just use a bit of clear nail varnish on the arm to help it fit more snugly, it doesn’t last for a lot of heavy use, but is invisible and quick drying so dead easy to reapply.

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
When one looks at collets on the Marr from reverb and ebay listings of the Marr trem, there appear to be two different types ... one rounded and one not ... both different to anything Fender has used before AFAIK ... here's two examples of each ...
The round one does look rather like the Staytrem collet ... two examples ...

And here's a decent view of the end of the arm and the rounded collet that shows the mating shape at the end of the arm ...
This is the nylon insert (same on both versions ?) ...

I have a 2018 LPB, and a 2018 KO. The KO had the old bridge (which has now been replaced with a Mastery bridge).timtam wrote: ↑Fri Dec 07, 2018 6:20 pmThat's the second time I've heard that the ~52-53mm E-E spacing is maybe now on all new 2018 Marrs, not just the LPB. So for anyone buying a new Marr, take your ruler with you to check.scott111 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 07, 2018 6:06 pmI received a new white JM jaguar and I love it.

FYI, I just measured the string spacing and it’s 52mm and also appears to be 7.25 radius. Unfortunately for me, earlier in the week I bought a used stay trem bridge on reverb for $200 in anticipation of the E strings issue and 9.5 radius issue. Oh well. At least I can eliminate any potential intonation screw issues using the staytrem

It is a bit heavy but it’s a good heavy. I’ve had my LPB for about 2 months now and every time I pick it up I’m in awe of the guitar for a few seconds. Awe of how exceptionallly crafted it is.

Haven't really bonded with my LPB Marr, I've struggled finding a sound that I love with it compared to my JMs... but I was playing my Danelectro 59 this afternoon and it occurred to me that I bet lipsticks would sound great in in the Marr. After Christmas I think I'll have to send an e-mail to Curtis Novak about getting a set of his Jag-lipsticks.

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
Added a switch tip that won't fall off and a new round string tree to my JMJag:
I use these tips on all my blade switches. They're rock solid and won't fall off because of the set-screw.
I love vintage Telecasters and the round string-tree is one of the best design elements Fender came up with, so I added one to both my Jag's.
Full pic:
Bonus wear pic that looks like a continent:
After these pic's it's been refretted with 6100's (bigger than I expected, but he didn't have 6105's, still getting used to those) and re-radiussed to 9,5".

Wouldn't it be easier to just buy a new neck made to your preferences and sell the Marr neck?Steadyriot. wrote: ↑Fri Dec 21, 2018 1:42 amAfter these pic's it's been refretted with 6100's (bigger than I expected, but he didn't have 6105's, still getting used to those) and re-radiussed to 9,5".

I'd love to put those on my Teles, too.

I guess it would be but I really like the original neck; I'm not really about parting this guitar out and the frets were pretty much worn trough.mediocreplayer wrote: ↑Fri Dec 21, 2018 8:30 amWouldn't it be easier to just buy a new neck made to your preferences and sell the Marr neck?Steadyriot. wrote: ↑Fri Dec 21, 2018 1:42 amAfter these pic's it's been refretted with 6100's (bigger than I expected, but he didn't have 6105's, still getting used to those) and re-radiussed to 9,5".
The refret had to be done, when refretting, the fretboard is sanded lightly anyway so a re-radius is a small job, the bridge is 9,5" as far as I know and I like frets to last a while as this is my main guitar. These are just a bit more jumbo than the regular medium-jumbo's that I'm used to.
There's no Jaguar out there with Nitro neck, 9,5" radius and medium jumbo's so I made one of my favorite guitars even more to my liking.
I'm considering grabbing one of those MIM neck's Fender sells now though; they seem pretty much perfect for me.
I bought mine from a Dutch webstore called Tonefactory.
They're Duesenberg style switch tips; all my Tele's have them too.
In America you can find them here.
I bet you can find them at more places when you look for "Duesenberg switch tip" or other related terms.
There's also knurled ones out there:

Has anyone seen this? I wasn't aware there was a matching headstock Sherwood Green Marr Jaguar produced in 2019
