Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
I have 2 Sherwood Marr's, one a case queen and one I use alot. Tempted to sell one of them to fund one of the new blue ones. Saw one in person yesterday and they are stunning.

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
Can anyone post some pics of their Olympic white/black Marrguitars with tortoise guards. I can’t decide if I want a white or black one, but either way, I want it with a tort guard. Thanks!

Shame we didn't encounter one another 2 weeks ago...was looking for one even - or especially - in used condition.

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
After months of not tempting fate (it's sat in my friend's dad's spare room in California since April), and for only the second time in ten years of posting at Shortscale...
I have a shortscale.
I had an AVRI Jag thirteen years ago, but sold it because we had a baby on the way and I'd bent my bicycle. I've finally replaced it with a Johnny Marr Jaguar.
It's great, it's really, really good. I knew the neck were fatter (I like thick necks), but it's interesting how the fact it's not that wide means it still feels pretty small. It sounds AMAZING, Jag neck pickup especially is one of my favourite pickup sounds. The switching is really smart - I was dubious what difference the strangle (especially the double-strangle on the humbucking position) would make, but it's really distinct.
Switched out the bridge, collet and arm for a Staytrem, shimmed the neck and put some manland 12s on it. I'm so happy.

Liz Phair was rocking a LPB Marr last night (and 3 or 4 different Strats), a bit fancier than her old Duo Sonics and Mustangs.

A couple pics of mine. The KO has a Mastery bridge installed (and I’m probably going to put some Fralin pickups in it). The LPB is stock.

It's a bit tricky to tell from the angle of the photo, but I think the trem arm isn't fully stuck in all the way on your LPB. I've got the same one and it took two hands to get it in all the way.

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
Trying to decide between a Lake Placid Blue Jaguar with a tortoise pickguard, or the Olympic white with the tortoise pickguard.
I'm not really into white pickguards.
I want to just solicit your opinions on which one is a better look, but also want to ask, is the Olympic white on these Jags a cream white, or is it bright white like you see on some newer Jazzmasters? I don't like the bright white, I much prefer a creamier white. Also does this Olympic White get yellower/creamier over time like you see with other Olympic whites?
Final question, are johnny marr jag pickguards the same as regular jag pickguards?
These are not johnny marr jags of course, but I found some photos that I was using to try and decide :-)

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
Sorry one more. I am looking to buy a used one on Reverb. I read a review on Reverb that JMs are "hit and miss" depending on which one you get. Is this true? If so, how are they a "miss?" Should I buy in person and what should I look for?
