That looks great! I agree, CAR is nothing without a matching headstock. Is it just me or do the sides curl up on the bridge cover?

Yep, they do. The cover was missing, there's a new one that doesn't fit very well. Everything else is original, it even had the String Mute - and after some careful adjusting, it actually works! The Banjo meets Sitar effect is just fabulous  ;)

Mm, nice... that one seems to be brand new, mine is a 2000 model. It seems those older AVRIs w/matching headstock are quite rare, I found something on fenderjaguar.net:

Also, the colours that were offered on the Jaguar in the 60's are not faithfully replicated in the current offerings that we see today in the American Vintage Series. Sunburst, fiesta red (discontinued 2002), candy apple red (discontinued, early on), olympic white, black, sherwood green (discontinued), inca silver (discontinued), ice blue metallic, ocean turquoise and surf green are/were available. All without matching headstock. Fender actually sent a batch of matching headstock US reissue Jaguars to Japan at one stage. Colours seen include shell pink and burgundy mist. There is currently a batch of Fender Custom Shop "thin skin" Jaguars with matching headstocks at the moment. Colours include surf green, fiesta red, daphne or sonic blue (?) and some sort of silver or gold...please write in if you know.
